About the event

The Knowledge and Learning event will bring together Child Protection practitioners and stakeholders working in Peace Support Operations and related issues in Africa, with a particular focus on East and West Africa to share and exchange information and knowledge, facilitate regional learning, and improve and foster new partnerships.

Event Theme: Sharing experiences, challenges and opportunities of child protection in contexts of armed conflict  and approaches towards effective Peace Support Operations.

The specific objectives of the event are to:

  1. Share and discuss information on research, current issues and best practices on Child Protection
  2. Review Child Protection training impact, opportunities and challenges while showcasing new ideas and trends in training
  3. Build capacity of participants around various Child Protection in Peace Support Operations issues
  4. Create an opportunity for the development of communities of practice and enhance communications and knowledge sharing amongst PSO actors

The event seeks to catalyse conversation and action based on the following broad themes:

  1. Exploring conflicts and Child Protection
  2. Capacity building/strengthening on Child Protection within Peace Support Operations
  3. Evaluating our models of sharing, learning and evaluating impact
